Statement of Faith

Expect to Grow Publishing

We believe that the Holy Bible in its entirety—both the Old and New Testaments—is the inspired Word of God. It is the absolute and final authority regarding faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe in the Holy Trinity. God is the One True God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is eternal, perfect in holiness, the embodiment of love, merciful, just, and unchanging. (Exodus 34:6-7; Deuteronomy 6:4, 32:4; Leviticus 11:44; Psalm 102:25-27; Isaiah 46:9; 1 John 4:8-10; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe in God the Father, Maker of heaven and earth, who reigns supreme over all creation. God is completely sovereign and will ultimately bring to fulfillment His eternal purposes and plans. (Genesis 1:1-2:7; Psalm 19:1-3; Psalm 33:8-11; Isaiah 46:9-10)

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus preexisted with God the Father before His incarnation on earth and was fully involved in the creation of all things. At a predetermined time, Jesus was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life on earth, and is, at the same time, truly God and truly man. (Matthew 1:20-25; John 1:1-5, 14; Romans 8:3)

We believe in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is a divine person who shares equality with God the Father and God the Son. All who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and are immediately indwelt by this same Spirit. The Spirit provides divine counsel, guidance, and empowerment to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, enabling them to live holy lives. (John 14:16-17, 26; John 15:26-27; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 5:18)

We believe that man was created in the image of God and was completely innocent in the beginning. Yet through the willful transgression of Adam, all men were made sinners. The ramifications of sin is death—both physical (the human body dies) and spiritual (man is separated from God). In his depravity, man continues to carry the wrath of God upon himself. If a person does not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, he will suffer eternal damnation. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:19; Ephesians 2:1-3; John 3:36; Revelation 20:11-15)

We believe that man’s only means of escaping eternal punishment is through salvation that comes through belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation is the gift of God, offered to man solely through God’s grace, not by works, and is received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God, gave His life as an atoning sacrifice for man’s sin. It is only through His blood that we may be saved. (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-11, 13; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:22; 1 Peter 1:18-21)

We believe in the personal, imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth; His millennial (thousand year) reign on earth; the defeat of Satan; the judgment of the dead; the everlasting blessedness inherited by those who place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; and the eternal damnation of the lost. (Acts 1:9-11; Titus 2:13; Revelation 19:11-21; Revelation 20)
